WHAT IS DAMANHUR?

DAMANHUR_1.png

Nestled in the alpine foothills north of Piedmont, Italy, between Turin and Aosta, is a truly magical place called Damanhur.

In a 15-kilometer area surrounding the lush, green valley of Valchiusella lives a very active, multilingual community of 600 people.

Damanhur is a Federation of spiritual communities, with its own Constitution, culture, art, music, currency, schools and uses of science and technology. Its citizens are open to sharing their knowledge and research with other groups and cultures of the world, with anyone who is interested in exploring these themes. Damanhur holds events at numerous centers, organizations and points of outreach in many cities around the world, and also hosts thousands of visitors each year who participate in tours, seminars, retreats and courses through Damanhur University. The community has attracted interest from scholars, educators and researchers in the fields of art, social sciences, spirituality, medicine and alternative health, economics and environmental sustainability.

The 8th Wonder of the World

Damanhur Temples of Humankind are considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. In 1975, a handful of courageous and ambitious people dug out the inside of a mountain to build the temples. The vision for these temples came from a man named Oberto Airaudi, who later became known as Falco, in the community. The artwork, stained glass, and marble floors  inside were all done by the people of Damanhur. It truly is a magical place. The mountain is an energetic point where the ley lines of the Earth cross over one another. Synchronicity happens at an accelerated rate there.

I visited in the fall of 2019 and fell in love with the beautiful people and their passion and love for all of humanity and their dream for all people, everywhere to  live in the same harmonious way. While the population of their community is around 600 in Italy, there are many  people around the world that share the same vision and want to help humanity move forward in a positive direction. I have made many lifetime friendships from my travels there and cannot wait to return. If you want to learn more about Damanhur, the Gaia channel has traveled there and filmed several shows for their channel. You can search “Damanhur” on the Gaia channel and find the shows there. The show “Ancient Civilizations” on the History channel has also traveled there to film episodes with Crotalo Sesamo, who is an ambassador of Damanhur, who shares his vast knowledge of ancient Egypt in several episodes of their latest season. Damanhur was named after the city of Damanhur in Egypt.
